AFR-700B
Air Force Developed High Temperature Polyimide
AFR-700B is a high temperature polyimide capable of surviving long term exposure to temperatures up to 650°F (343°C). Over $1 million of data has been generated on AFR-700B by the Air Force and it is qualified for various military applications. AFR-700B can be processed into composites using prepreg or by solvent-assisted resin transfer molding (saRTM).
Properties
- Glass Transition Temperature:
700 - 750ºF (371 - 399ºC)
- Thermal Oxidative Stability:
1.5 - 2.5% weight loss at 700°F (371°C), 100 hours in air
- Resin Solids Content:
Can be formulated up to 75% wt. solids
- Solution Density:
1.1 - 1.3 gm/cc
- Solution Viscosity @ 55% solids:
50 - 200 cps at RT, Spindle #2, 10 RPM
